Though spring is some time away, training has already commenced for 2016 with a full preseason training programme now underway in Amsterdam. If you are keen to join and play some footy this year, come down to the Vondelpark at 7pm on Tuesdays! For more information, please contact us via Facebook or email.
We’re also looking for people who are keen to do some training sessions in the Hague, so if you can’t make it to Amsterdam please get in touch via Facebook or email so that we can gauge the numbers and organise training sessions in the Hague!
To all our members,
2015 has been by far the best year for the Dutch Australian Football Association with several highlights. We have started the year with early training sessions for the inaugurational European Club tournament called the AFL Champions League. We hosted and organized this event with a lot of positive feedback and reached a very well respected 4th place for the Amsterdam devils.
We have played a national Dutch league between 3 evenly powered teams. A number of international game days have been held, we have received teams from London, Odense, Cologne and visited teams in Paris and the Rheinland. The national team ‘ The Flying Dutchman’ has earned 9th place in the AFL Europe Cup in Croatia and brought home a well deserved plate, to be placed in our recently acquired brand new club house at Sportspark the Eendracht. Finally the season was closed off with our first international footy trip in Ireland. Many good things we look back at with pride.
We would like to maintain our positive run within the club and progress to coordinate and work on our own organization to provide another good season for 2016 and beyond.
Therefore we would cordially like to invite you for the DAFA Annual General Meeting on Wednesday the 6th of January at 19:00 hrs at sportspark the Eendracht.
In this meeting we will briefly look back to season 2015. Based on your input or enrollment as a member we would also like to discuss any changes within the DAFA board and Games Administration Committee. Through this way we would also like to invite you as a member to come forth, contribute to your club and nominate yourself for any of the open positions that are available for nomination. These roles are re-electionable every year and will be determined during the AGM where your important attendance and therefore personal vote counts.
The season 2016 open positions for nomination are: (Vice)-President, (Assistant)-Treasurer, GAC member, Secretary, Public Relations Officer and Coach.
If you feel affiliated with one of these roles or are interested in the roles and responsibilities then we would like to hear your personal note preferable before or at latest during the AGM. Please contact one of the current Board Members for this (Micka, Jort, Maurice or Tim)
The AGM will also be held to discuss and inform important club matters for season 2016. Such as the use of our current club house, membership fees, recruitment, game planning, tournaments, the Champions League 2016, training structure, material and much, much more. Should you feel obliged to have your say in this then please make yourself present and known during the AGM.
The full agenda will be released in the coming week – if you have any suggestions, please raise them BEFORE 11 December by contacting email@example.com or contacting the board directly.
There is a lot to get excited about for next year so please get involved and attend on the 6th of January. We will be looking forward to see you in the beginning of next year and on behalf of the board we would like to wish you, your family and beloved ones happy holidays and a very great kick start of the new year.
